Great Expectations
New classroom resources for ELA
A Masterpiece drama collection on Teachers' Domain finally becomes a reality with Great Expectations, available just in time for the premiere. Three scenes from the broadcast are presented for classroom discussion: the novel's famously dramatic opening (Setting the Scene), Pip's Becoming a Gentleman, and the controversial ending (Happily Ever After?). Stay tuned for Part 2 of the series on Sunday, April 8th!

Join us for a LIVE Educator Share-a-Thon during the show on NOVA Education's Facebook page and download the free NOVA Elements iPad app, launching this week on iTunes. This interactive periodic table of the elements app allows you to build atoms and assemble molecules into everyday objects in the My Essential Elements game.

Poetry Everywhere
April is National Poetry Month!
New additions to the Poetry Everywhere collection from former U.S. Poet Laureates Ted Kooser and Billy Collins present a wry and charming perspective on the human experience: Success and Forgetfulness.
Poetry Everywhere offers 42 short poetry films taken from unexpected moments in the PBS series. All of the resources have been contextualized for classroom use, including a background essay, discussion questions, and alignment to standards.

"I used this mini-documentary with my year one class and they loved it. Before we watched the video I introduced key concepts like 'what is a scientist', and 'how do humans hear?' I taught them some mildly specialized vocab. (e.g. ear canal, ear bones, experiment) and it was very cute to see their eyes light up when the scientist in the documentary used those words. Highly recommended."
